Feb. 6th, 1931. Hon. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Governor of New York State, Albany, N. Y. Dear Governor: I beg to acknowledge receipt of your favor of the 5th instant enclosing quit claim deed to be signed by the Executors of your brother's estate conveying a small piece of property in Queens to Charles Shapiro. In view of section 2032 of the Penal Law, I would suggest that we make certain that Charles Shapiro is the owner of this property before you or your mother execute deeds thereof to him. If he is the actual owner of the property and desires these quit claim deeds to correct his title, of course there will be no harm in executing the deeds and delivering them to him. Please let me know if you are satisfied that he is the owner of the property. With best wishes and kindest remembrances, Very sincerely yours, John Hackett |
