               #2343, June 8, 4 p. m., from London.

countries are still alive and vigorous, and that their lawful
governments are carrying on the war from overseas with all the
                   resources at their command.

Three. The meeting will be on June 12. It will be quite brief.
I shall make a statement and I have no doubt that the allied
representatives will also speak. The meeting will be attended
by the Dominion High Commissioners, and the Prime Ministers,
Foreign Secretaries and other representatives of the allied governments.
The Free French movement will be represented. The resolution,
of which I am sending you a copy, has already been agreed with
                    the Dominions and Allies.

Four. I hope the meeting will provide a convincing demonstration
of our common tenacity of purpose, but I need hardly say, Mr.
President, what an accession of strength it would be if the United
States Government felt it possible to be associated in some form
                 or another with the proceedings.
