Dear Winston:-
That new film "Desert Victory" is about the best thing
that has been done about the war on either side. Everyone here
is enthusiastic. I gave a special showing for the White House
Staff and tonight the Interior Department employees are having
a special showing because everybody in town is talking about
it; and I understand that within ten days it will be in the picture
houses. Great good will be done.
I think I picked up sleeping sickness or Gambia fever or some
kindred bug in that hell-hole of yours called Bethurst. It laid
me low -- four days in bed --then a lot of sulphadiathole which
cured the fever and left me feeling like a wet rag. I was no
good after 2 P.M. and, after standing it for a week or so, I
went to Hyde Park for five days; got full of health in glorious
zero weather--came back here last week and have been feeling
like a fighting cock every since.
Anthony has spent three evenings with me. He is a grand fellow
and we are talking everything from Ruthenia to the production
of peanuts|
