THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
October 18, 1943.
Take up with General Arnold and find out what is the latest date
that I can deliver a Christmas tree for Winston Churchill and
send it over by a bomber or otherwise in order to reach him at
Chequers, England, before Christmas.
If I am away, tell Mr. Plog a week beforehand that it should
be packed in burlap and sent to wherever General Arnold says.
