      My dear Mr. President: Moore and I are on our way home by train. 
      The last crackup out of Seattle scared us a bit. Just got news 
      of my confirmation. Will thank you personally when I get home. 
      I want to say now that I don't know what kind of a diplomat I 
      shall be, probably rotten, but I promise to get done for you 
      those things that you want done. Rose and I are deeply grateful.
