INTERNATIONAL HOUSE June 14, 1939 My dear Mr. O'Connor, I received this morning the following clipping of the Swiss Democratic party paper: "National Oeituns, Basel" with the article of the well known Italian diplomat Count Sporja (since several years in exile). The count Sporja is a personality of highest political experience and has the best relations with all the leaders in the world. I believe it will be of a special interest for you to keep this article. The most important paragraph deals with the American Ambassador in London, Mr. Kennedy. I give you a short translation of this paragraph: "The American Ambassador in London, Kennedy, is speaking with the Germanophile circle which is behind the London Times not only in a defaitistoc manner, but more in a way extremely hostile against President Roosevelt. He is sympathizing in such a way with General Franco- and means that he is doing a very good work for his church- that he often explains that the Democratic policy of the United States is only a Jewish matter and that Roosevelt will disappear 1940." The Count Sporja is publishing the fact with the mention that until the date of the edition of his article, nobody has had the courage to tell this special fact in all publicity notwithstanding many people have knowledge about Mr. Kennedy's talks against the President. Hoping you have an interest to know that I remain With best regards Yours very sincerely, W.L. Colze (sgd) Encls. |
