Princess and the children, or the latter by themselves,
 
come to the United States temporarily to be completely safe
 
against airplane raids. It would give Mrs. Roosvelt and
 
me very great happiness to care for them over here as if
 
they were members of our own family and they could come to
 
us either in Washington or at our country place at Hyde Park. 
 
     I am telegraphing my old friend Leopold in regard to
 
his own children and I want you to know that I want to
 
help in any personal way which lies in my power.
