On the occasion of the first anniversary of American Relief for Italy I   
have been requested by Judge Marchisio to make an eleven minute broadcast   
from Rome on April 17 at 7:30 pm., New York time on Mutual Broadcasting   
System. Introduction will be made by Judge Marchisio from New York.  The   
following has been prepared by me and is offered for your suggestions and   
approval as Chairman of American Relief for Italy.  
 
 
It gives me much pleasure to speak from Rome on the occasion of the first   
anniversary of the founding of American Relief for Italy. As you know this   
organization was conceived by the President of the United States and set   
up by his dierection and has had his constant support.  On New Year's Eve   
I spoke to you of the havoc wrought by the conflict in war torn Italy.  I
