             MRS. J. R. ROOSEVELT PROPERTY
 
     Situated on the west side of the Albany Post Road in 
the Town of Hyde Park, Dutchess County, New York. The house 
is situated well back from the Albany Post Road approached
over a private driveway boardered on each side by lovely
shade trees. It is well landscaped and has beautiful
gardens.
 
     The main residence is two and one half story, nearly 
one hundred fifty years old, is of frame construction with a
wood shingle roof. An addition for helps quarters was more
recently constructed. It has leaders and gutters and is
painted red. It has a small porch at the entrance and a
large porch extending across the south end of the house.
 
     First floor. There is a large foyer with oak floors, 
high ceilings, and is nicely decorated. To the left or south
 
there is a living room, oak flooring open wood burning
fireplace and a large music room. To the north is a room, oak 
floors and adjacent is a den with a wood burning fireplace, 
washroom with tilefloor and toilet and wash basin. The recent
addition includes the helps quarters of four bedrooms and bath.
There is narrow pine flooring and a flower room with hot and cold 
running water to a sink.
 
     Second floor. The front stairway to the second floor is
from the entrance hall to the servants quarters.On the second
floor is a lovely large bedroom with a woodburning fireplace
oak floors and private bath with tile floors.
 
     There is a west bedroom with old board flooring. The
upper hall has oak flooring and a bath with tile floor and old
style  fixtures.
 
     A large north bedroom with oak floors, open wood
burning fireplace and three steps down to a modern bath with
built-in tub known as Mrs. Robinson's room. There are two
other small bedrooms on this floor.
 
     There is an open attic over the main house which was
formerly used as helps quarters. They have the old wide
board flooring, board partitions, electric lights and
heating radiators.
 
     Basement. There is a basement kitchen with a white
sink, hot and cold running water, large restaurant type range
connected to a copper hot water boiler. There are three servants
rooms.The cellar room has concrete floors, oil burning Quiet May,
Well & McLean hot water heating system. This is a protion of the
main house. Under the northaddition or helps quarters is a hot
water, coal burning furnace. There is an outside cellar entrance,
laundry room with wooden floors and two laundry tubs.
 
     A dumbwaiter from the kitchen to the butlers pantry on
the  first floor. The interior of the house is in good
condition. The exterior needs attention and paint.
