to Freetown.

Royal Air Force.
During the night of October 18th/19th~
the aluminum works at Leuna were successfully located and attacked
by Four aircraft; large fires and a number of explosions were
caused. Amongst other targets attacked, with results partially
or totally unobserved, were docks at Hamburg, Emden and Lubeck,
Krupps works at Kiel and other railway targets and factories
in Germany.
During the night of October 19th-20th owing to the weather conditions
the projected operations were canceled, except as regards two
heavy bombers which were sent to a railway target in Germany,
and a third heavy bomber to a military objective in Berlin. These
three aircraft have returned.

German Air Force
. Night of October 18th/19th (further
reports) casualties in the London area were approximately 45
killed and 1S4 wounded, and at Birmingham 6 killed and 70 wounded.
Daylight 0otober 19th. The principal enemy activity was a raid
of about 60 enemy aircraft, mostly fighters, 87 penetrated to
central London in the early afternoon and split up into smaller
units before flying back over east London. No bombs were dropped.
During the day some single enemy aircraft were plotted but only
a few
