DEPARTMENT OF STATE RECEIVED JAN 17 1945 His Majesty's Ambassador presents his compliments to the Secretary of State and has the honour to transmit to him a translation of the letter addressed by General Franco to the Spanish Ambassador in London for communication to His Majesty's Government, together with a copy of Mr. Winston Churchill's reply, which will be despatched to the Spanish Ambassador in the course of the next few days. It is desired that the Secretary of State be good enough to show this correspondence to the President. 2. The correspondence is also being communicated to Marshal Stalin.
