and builders. I think I have a chance to answer the criticism
that has always been so prevalent as to why America should have
a Merchant Marine.
I don't know that you want to be bothered with this kind of
a letter, but, if you do, just let me know and I will send them
along to you when I have any personal observations. A great deal
of the stuff that will go forward, it seems to me, might be interesting,
but not particularly important. Nobody is going to fight a war
over here unless Germany starts shooting somebody. Nobody wants
it.
