In the course of a series of interrogations of skilled workers, it was found that the overwhelming majority of these men have poor morale because: a. Many of them have families to worry about. b. They find the transition to army life difficult at their age. c. They worry about the future more than the average younger soldier. d. They feel that when skilled workers are called up things must be going very badly indeed. This group would be particularly susceptible to factual statements of production figures of the Allies, compared with facts about what is happening to the German production. 3. Untrained Men. Prisoners taken at the Anzio beachhead area brought reports that some of the units consisted of men who scarcely knew how to fire a gun. One |
