Daylight October 22nd.

Enemy activity was on a very much reduced scale. In the London
area visibility was about 200 yards up to midday. Single aircraft
were reported over London and in the afternoon a raid of about

During the night of October 22nd - 23rd
 enemy activity
was less than usual, involving only about 110 aircraft. Attacks
were widespread, London and Coventry districts being the principal
objectives. 'Several aircraft appear to have turned back before
reaching our coast. By 11.30 p.m. the country was clear except
for one machine over the London area and there was no further
activity until 5.15 when small raids were plotted over Devon
and South Wales. In the London area bombing was much less severe
than usual and no important damage is reported.

An attack was made on Coventry early in the evening. Several
fires were started and casualties so far reported are 3 killed
and 37 wounded. Four factories engaged in war work received damage
but the effect on production is not yet known.
